NLC Protest Forces Banks to Close Shop!

Fashion home! The Nigerian Labour Congress seems to be serious and dogged in the fight against the fuel hike. Citizens, especially employees of private organizations have continued to express their displeasure on the part of NLC for their inability to coordinate and sustain the strike action.

The NLC however are not giving up on the protest despite court warnings and Government threats. They have gone ahead to solicit for participation by workers sending out letters to organisations.

This afternoon, they were seen around the Aminu Kano Crescent axis of Wuse2 Abuja, marching in their numbers while the music of Nigeria’s popular musician (African China-“lead us well”) was played in the background.

Banks (UBA, Zenith) along Aminu Kano Crescent immediately closed to customers as it was gathered that they had earlier been warned. We also learnt that Skye Bank was advised not to open to customers on Monday next week.

Let us keep our fingers crossed and see who wins in this battle; the Government or NLC.
